The Special Needs Aquatic Program is a fun and beneficial program for children with a variety of special abilities and needs. SNAP was founded in 1991 to meet the need for alternative physical therapy and recreational services for children in the San Francisco Bay Area. Programs are tailored to address the physical, cognitive, and psychosocial needs of each participant. We stress self-confidence and the joy of movement and fitness in a safe, non-competitive, success oriented atmosphere.

SNAP was honored with the 1999 Tsunami Award for creativity and innovation in aquatics by the Aquatic Therapy and Rehab Institute. Our director, Dori Maxon PT, PCS,MEd was awarded the 2001 Aquatic Professional of the Year by the Aquatic Therapy and Rehab Institute. In 2002, we became a program of United Cerebral Palsy of the Golden Gate, a non-profit, 501-C3 agency.
